How Painting Commissions Work

A brief overview of my custom pet portrait commission process.

  1. You schedule a consultation via Zoom or phone.
  2. We iron out the details (style, size, price, etc.) in the consultation.
  3. You send me photos to work from.
  4. You pay the 50% deposit and sign the Artist Contract.
  5. I get to work on your painting!
  6. I get in touch when your painting is ready.
  7. You pay the balance.
  8. I ship your painting.
  9. You fall in love with your new custom pet portrait!

What happens in the consultation?

The consultation gives us a chance to make sure all your questions are answered. Custom portraits are very personal, and one of my favorite parts of being an artist is getting to know my clients and their beloved animals.

During the consultation, we talk about the details of your painting—the best size for your space, what style preferences you have, and the price.

Great Photos, Great Paintings

I only need one great photo of your horse, dog, or other animal friend to create the best painting I can. But getting the right kind of photos can be a tricky process. So I put together a photography guide with all my tips for snapping the kind of photo that works best for a painting reference. Enter your info below and I’ll send it right over!
